Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT), established in 1903 and based in Tianjin, is the only university in Hebei Province honored to be listed in the national “Project 211” in 1996, and further officially credited as one of the “Double First-class” universities in China in 2017.
Established in March 2020, HEBUT Finland Campus is one of the pioneers among Chinese universities to establish a campus in a developed country. Finland Campus adopts a cooperative model with Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) in Finland, offering a unique international education experience across three locations: Tianjin in China, and the cities of Lappeenranta and Lahti in Finland.
The Campus enrolls students from three main sources: Chinese students,EU/EEA students, and none-EU/EEA students , with each group comprising approximately one-third of the total population. For Chinese students, the campus employs a “1+3” cultivation mode, where the first year of study is conducted at the Tianjin Campus, followed by the second to fourth years in Finland. All courses are taught in English to ensure a globally competitive learning experience.
International students, on the other hand, participate in a 3-year training programme entirely in Finland, with access to English-taught courses. Additionally, they have the opportunity to join academic and cultural exchanges in China during the summer vacation, further enriching their cross-cultural experience.
