HEBUT requirements

Registration to HEBUT

In accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, personal information needs to be uploaded to China Higher Education Student Information System (CHSI). To complete your enrollment process at HEBUT, you are required to register by scanning the designated QR code before October after you are enrolled at LUT.

Failure to complete this registration will result in your information not being recorded in the CHSI system, consequently preventing HEBUT from issuing your degree or graduation certificates. The registration process requires you to provide your passport number, date of birth, email address, and other necessary details.

Please note that this information will be utilized exclusively for registration purposes and will NOT be collected for commercial use.

The new questionnaire QR code will be released soon through HEBUT Moodle System.

Graduation qualification reviews

1.Procedure:

Students are required to submit the necessary documents via email to  finland.graduation@hebut.edu.cn. The HEBUT teaching management office will then verify whether students meet the requirements, including credits, GPA, Bachelor’s thesis, and mandatory Chinese language and culture courses. If they meet all the requirements, students will be awarded both the HEBUT graduation certificate and the bachelor’s degree certificate.

2.Review schedule:

First review: early June

Second review: early July

Third review: late February of the subsequent year

3.Required documents:

LUT degree certificate and transcript

HSK certificate or other relevant language proficiency credentials (scanned copy)

4.Consequences of not meeting requirements:

       Graduation extension option:

Students who fail to meet graduation requirements may apply for graduation extension. Students are required to submit the Graduation Extension Application Form via email to finland.graduation@hebut.edu.cn in May, prior to the first graduation review. The normal study period spans three years, with a maximum extension to five years, allowing for an extension of up to two years.

       Completion certificate scenario

Students who fail to meet graduation requirements within the prescribed study period will only receive a completion certificate from HEBUT and will not be awarded either the graduation certificate or bachelor’s degree certificate. These students are classified as program completers* rather than graduates. Program completers have three additional review opportunities during the subsequent academic year: late February, early June, and early July. If they pass any of these reviews, program completers will be reclassified as graduates and awarded both the graduation certificate and the bachelor’s degree certificate. However, failure in all three reviews will result in the final issuance of the official completion certificate as the sole credential.

*Program completers are students who complete all the coursework specified in a double degree program within the prescribed study period but fail to meet the requirements in terms of credits, GPA, bachelor’s thesis, or mandatory Chinese language and culture courses.
